At Alchemy we are working with an established London based Art organisation, who are looking to bring on a knowledgeable Cataloguer for a fixed term contract (12 months).

Key responsibilities:
- Compile all relevant information for cataloguing artworks according to industry standards.
- Assist with creating marketing materials, valuations, and proposals by providing researched information.
- Coordinate with different departments to ensure smooth production of marketing materials and valuations.
- Research artworks to determine authenticity, provenance, and exhibition history using libraries, online resources, and expert advice.
- Catalogue artworks physically, adhering to auction standards and procedures.
- Write catalogue notes and other marketing material as needed.
- Prepare artworks for review meetings with managers and specialists.
- Assist with condition reports and restoration coordination.
- Support digital catalogue production and layout, including coordinating photography.
- Communicate with clients via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- Engage in discussions about artworks with specialists, colleagues, and clients.
- Collaborate with other team members to support with various sales assistance within the department.
- Perform additional duties when necessary.
Requirements:
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple projects on tight deadlines.
- Work alongside other departments and areas within the business.
- Able to handle important information confidentiality, and responsibly.
- Proactive and efficient in project management.
- Knowledge of crafting academic texts on artworks, providing valuable contributions to projects.
- BA or Ma in History of Art.
