An offshore job such as an Offshore Technical Superintendent is a key role within the crew, responsible for the maintenance of the vessel and the compliance of the vessel and crew with Health, Safety and Environmental policy.
The Offshore Technical Superintendent ultimately manages the vessel’s welfare, conducting any required repairs, over and under water, and ensuring that equipment and any watertight compartments are secure. As any offshore job suggests, an Offshore Technical Superintendent can work in a variety of marine settings, including rivers, lakes and open water, and may be required to work directly with the vessel or make use of ROVs for underwater work. The stability and seaworthiness of the vessel would be your responsibility, but the welfare of the crew is just as much a part of an Offshore Technical Superintendent’s job. You must ensure that all onboard incidents are reported and that records are thoroughly maintained.
