Move Management

The Move Manager is responsible for the entire moving process and works closely with the client to ensure that any problems are dealt with efficiently and the process is tailored for the client’s convenience.

As well as close communication with the client, the Move Manager is responsible for building relationships with Shipping agents and other Corporate departments to secure more competitive business and would maintain smooth running throughout the move. The Move Manager must also adhere to any time and cost constraints and ensure that their team does also.

What does a Move Management job description include?

  • A Move Manager must oversee all shipments within any parameters, maintaining and building strong relationships with any shipping agents.
  • You must also ensure that all accounts are maintained to the highest level, running the move as cost efficiently as able without damaging customer satisfaction.
  • The Move Manager must use all resources available to ensure the highest customer satisfaction.
  • The Move Manager must also attend all external review meetings and maintain close communication with the client, colleagues and other departments.
  • You must also complete all required documentation for exports, as well as ensuring the client has done the same and all documentation reaches the required department in good time.
  • A Move Manager must also liaise with any overseas agents and global suppliers, ensuring all files are handled in accordance with FAIMISO and ISO9001 standards.

Key skills and qualifications of a Move Manager:

  • You must be educated to degree level and may also be required to hold any qualifications associated with Domestic Removals Management.
  • A Move Manager working within Move Management requires strong communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively as a team leader.
  • In Move Management, you must also be able to work well under pressure, to cost and time constraints.
  • The Move Manager must be well organised and able to effectively arrange the move with other departments and so the ability to multi-task is essential.
  • The Move Manager must also be a good problem solver, able to use intuition to resolve any issues and complaints from the client.
  • To work in Move Management You must also be proficient in Microsoft Office and any other software related to the Domestic Removals industry.
