A leading Auction House have an opening for a Shipping Assistant to join their dedicated team based in Central London.

The successful candidate will provide administrative assistance to the Shipping and Logistics team, specifically focusing on Inbound shipments and Travelling Exhibitions.

The duties of the Shipping Assistant include but are not limited to:

  • Producing correct shipping documents for exports
  • Corresponding with other departments, requesting Purchase Order forms and delegating their numbers
  • Producing invoices when payments are due
  • Overseeing the installation and deinstallation of travelling exhibitions when required
  • Ensuring exhibitions run to a tight schedule and deadlines are met
  • Responsible for the general control of the management report, ensuring that quote requests from the homes of clients and offices are dealt with correctly
  • Ensure that all deliveries are made on time by updating systems with relevant information such as costs
  • Administrative duties such as scanning invoices and shipping documentation to upload to the database
  • Make sure that the import and export of goods conforms to legal and compliance regulations

Additional skills:

  • Come from a fine art shipping or import/export background
  • Experience using systems such as SAP is advantageous
  • An organised individual who possesses the ability to remain calm in a demanding atmosphere
  • Someone who manages their time well
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confident using the MS package, specifically Excel
