Quality Assurance Manager

Alchemy is pleased to be partnering with an innovative and fast growing food production business in their search for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their team in North East Oklahoma.

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and HACCP activities and ensuring all areas of the business are compliant with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and coordinate quality assurance/HACCP plans and activities to ensure high quality standards and compliance
  • Monitor product quality and food safety in accordance with regulatory and corporate standards requirements, and ensure daily HACCP activities are carried out
  • Maintain complete and orderly files for HACCP records and quality-related report data
  • Carry out quality assurance activities, and review all data obtained to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain food safety systems to ensure ‘audit ready’’ status, and schedule audits as required
  • Have working knowledge of USDA and industry quality assurance codes, and act as point of liaison between USDA and company management
  • Manage company pest control systems, and take charge of SQF program in SQF practitioners absence
  • Establish food safety and quality objectives that are in line with the company’s goals and policies
  • Evaluate third party vendors and make decisions as to whether the business continues or commences working with them
  • Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
  • Analyse data relating to the company’s quality control processes, making recommendations for changes and improvements when required
  • Investigate customer complaints related to quality and food safety, and implement changes where required
  • Manage a team of quality assurance professionals across various facilities – including monitoring attendance and performance of staff, and leading training and disciplinary actions when required
  • Lead hiring efforts, including interviewing potential candidates, and training new employees
  • Establish quality assurance and food safety training programs
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar Quality Assurance role, particularly within the food production industry
  • Staff management experience, ideally a team of 10+
  • A problem solver with great communication skills
  • Working knowledge of following software - AS400 Database software, Kronos Timekeeping System, Microsoft office
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Masters Degree or equivalent
  • HACCP Certification
  • Full clean drivers licence
