Customs Clearance Coordinator

Job Summary

We are working with a leading Shipping company in their search for a Customs Clearance Coordinator based in Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities:

• Completing customs entries from start to finish
• Provide support and assistance to the Customs Clearance team members on any customs related issues
• Undertake training of junior members of the Customs Clearance team
• Ensure accurate completion of all Import and Export declarations
• Collate information for any audits, as required by HMRC
• Ensuring statutory processes are compliant with HMRC regulations
• Record and present financial information as required to customs house brokerage
• Complete shipping transit movement processing as required
• Maintain quality and professional levels of customer service at all times
• Ensure operating manuals are reviewed regularly and updated as needed
• Stay updated and compliant on customs legislation

Skills required

• Previous customs clearance entries experience is essential
• Good knowledge of HM Revenue & Customs requirements
• Experience of Import and Export Declarations, VAT, tariff codes and similar
• Port system experience using Destin8, CNS or Descartes Customs Systems or similar
• Comprehensive knowledgeable on Customs House Brokerage customs modules
• Good IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
