Job Summary

We are partnering with a global business in their search for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their team in Tokyo, Japan.

The Supply Chain Manager will manage the whole supply chain function in Japan from start to finish including warehousing and logistics.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage supply chain strategies to drive and support business
  • Ensure controls are in place for trade compliance and any free trade agreements are used to advantage
  • Lead processes to ensure demand planning and supply planning processes are in place
  • Maintain excellent relationships with customers to ensure strong communication
  • Manage inventory ensuring there is enough stock to fulfil agreed orders with customers
  • Establish close working relationships with Supply Chain Management counterparts to insure comprehensive coverage of all network issues and management
  • Act as point of contact for third party vendors ensuring costs are competitive, SLA’s match business needs, and performance tracking systems are in place
  • Manage the entire supply chain planning function including imported products and logistics planning
  • Partner with appropriate internal resources to ensure effective start up for new suppliers
  • Work to continuously develop and maintain an overall supplier strategy
  • Develop and implement new supply channels in a cost effective way whilst achieving growth for the business
  • Manage and develop staff to ensure they are fully capable and are meeting customer requirements
  • Work closely with other business units to collaborate and achieve company goals
  • Manage any complaints and issues that may arise

Key Requirements:

  • 10+ years of Supply Chain Management experience
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work well in a team and build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • At minimum Bachelor’s degree qualified
  • Native Japanese and business level English language skills required
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Suite and SAP
  • Excellent customer service skills
