Alchemy are working with an Auction House who are seeking to hire a Rugs and Carpets Specialist to join their expanding team in Massachusets.
The main responsibilities include:
- Manage all aspects of pre auction support ranging from dealing with inquiries for auction appraisals and collaborating with inventory and production departments
- Assist with valuations of oriental rugs and carpets
- Design and produce catalogues for all upcoming sales
- Develop the business by seeking new clients and regularly reaching out to existing ones
- Take in consignment material and provide the department with administrative support
- Keeping in contact with similar industry specialists to encourage continued business.
Skills required for this role include:
- Experience working in an Auction House is required for this role
- Genuine interest in Artwork and Antiques
- Experience handling and moving high value pieces
- Valuation skills with strong market and trend awareness
- Able to work both as part of a team and independently
- Comfortable working to deadlines and under pressure
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
