A prestigious Auction House are seeking to hire a professional to head up one of their specialist departments.
The purpose of this hire is to acquire an individual who can share and showcase their expertise in order to promote and inspire members of the team, consequentially increasing the overall sales success and development of the department.
The main responsibilities include:
Manage and engage with all members of the team to ensure both personal development and smooth running of the overall department.
Ensure all classification and cataloguing is approved and carried out in a timely manner and meets the company standards.
Carry out regular reports on staff development and budgets in order to monitor the success of the department.
Maintain excellent relationships with clients and source new clients and ensure a continued progression in business development.
Liaise with collectors on a regular basis and carry out client visits whenever required in order to network and promote the company.
Keep up to date with all industry news and ensure the highest level of knowledge of the industry is maintained throughout the department always.
Previous experience within a similar role working for an auction house is required.
A well-established client base and good knowledge of the industry is essential in order to assist the department in their development of expertise.
Have a flexible approach with regards to working hours and be willing to go above and beyond in order to ensure the success of the department.
Previous experience of managing a motivating staff within an organisation is required.
A previous track record of setting and achieving targets is beneficial.
Excellent communication skills are essential to attend business trips and client visits to promote the organisation.
