A leading global art organisation has a fantastic opening for an Assistant Registrar and Art Handler to join their team based in Hong Kong.

The successful candidate will have experience carefully handling fragile art work to a high standard and will support the team in handling and receiving valuable property and maintaining inventory records.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all policies regarding the security; handling, movement and storage of property are adhered to at all times
  • Assist with the set-up of exhibitions and private viewings
  • Maintain all property information in SAP and all associated documents as required
  • Distribute arriving property to the correct departments or storage locations and logging the movement and assist with releasing property to clients, shippers and 3rd parties at Property Collections
  • Record the condition of property received, generate condition reports and flag any damage immediately to all relevant parties
  • Contribute in ad-hoc duties when required

Skills:

  • Experience hanging paintings, installing artworks, crating and un-crating, desirable
  • Previous art handling skills including furniture and large sculptures, traditional western art and Contemporary works to a high standard
  • Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin is essential
  • A team player who is flexible, has good time management, strong organisational and problem solving skills
  • Strong computer and administration skills and able to organise and process high volume email requests
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • Ability to work individually or within a team
